Holiday Lake 4-H Educational Center, Appomattox, VA, is seeking instructors for various program activities for the summer of 2010. All positions are seasonal and residential. Housing, meals, and lodging will be provided for all camp staff and staff will be expected to live on campus and be "on call" 24/hrs Monday through Friday of each camp week. Camp Holiday Trails seeks Development Director
Established in 1973, Camp Holiday Trails is a nonprofit camp for children with special health needs, www.campholidaytrails.org. They are seeking to hire a full-time Development Director with some flexible work from home hours (this is a replacement position). Salary, based on experience, $30,000 with health benefits. Min. 4 years of development and nonprofit experience required. Position includes extensive grant-writing and maintaining current strong funder relationships, leadership of special events, attendance at Development Committee meetings and occasional Board meetings and coordination with Executive Director of Annual Fund efforts. Strategic plans include establishing a Major Gift program. Strong writing and communication skills required and experience with Access databases a plus. Development Director must be a team player with willingness to wear the many hats of a camp staff member (ability to talk with a donor while helping a camper make a lanyard a plus.) Additional “hats” include some weekend responsibilities: leading volunteers, working with rental groups and assisting with summer camps. Camp team is a tightly knit, supportive cadre of people and sense of humor is a welcome skill.
